How to eliminate toxins?

A while ago, there was a major uproar in the Dutch media about an advice given by a celeb health enthusiast to drink a glass of water with clay in order to 'detox' the body.
Unfortunately, while it is true that clay can bind to toxins, clay is not the best choice for two reasons. The clay itself can be polluted, but moreso, clay isn't the best option.

For detoxification everything starts with ... the liver, your body's most powerful detoxification organ.
If you are serious about detoxification, your best bet is to assist the liver as well as you can by making sure it functions properly so toxins are flushed out!

The first step will be to boost your glutathione production. Outside taking glutathione, you can increase intake of cysteine-rich food, such as whey.
Eat plenty sulphur-rich foods from the cruciferous family (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts),garlic, asparagus, leek and parsley. Garlic is by far the most powerful sulphurous food.
Once toxins are flushed from the liver, the best way to flush them out of the body is not clay, but chlorella. To make chlorella work, you will need a rather high dose, which needs to be built up gradually.

Other potent 'metal flushers' are beneficial bacteria from fermented products or probiotics. One major source of metal pollution are amalgam fillings.
If you are not prepared to have them taken out by your dentist, you may want to rinse your mouth with a self-made mouth wash. Not a regular mouth wash but a drink made from chlorella powder and/or pulverized N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC).
